1. Who we are

Patente Decoded (www.patentedecoded.com) is operated by [Legal name of the business], [Registered address, Italy], VAT no. [Partita IVA] (“we”, “us”). Contact: [Contact email]. By creating an account or buying a pass you accept these terms.

2. The service

Patente Decoded is an online study tool for the Italian driving-licence theory exam (Patente A/B). It contains the ministerial question bank, practice quizzes, mock exams, lessons, statistics and AI-written explanations.

We are not affiliated with the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, the Motorizzazione Civile or any driving school. Booking and sitting the official exam is your responsibility.

Explanations, translations and some lessons are written or translated with the help of AI and checked against the official question bank. They can still contain mistakes. The official question bank and the law always prevail. Statistics such as your pass chance are estimates, not promises.

3. Your account

You must be at least 18 years old. One account is for one person: do not share your sign-in. Keep your password safe and tell us if you think someone else has used your account. We may suspend accounts that are shared, resold, or used to copy the service’s content in bulk.

4. Price and payment

A pass costs €24.00 (VAT included where it applies), paid once by card through Stripe. It gives full access for 6 months (183 days) from purchase. It does not renew automatically and you will never be charged again unless you buy another pass. Your receipt is emailed by Stripe; an invoice is available on request.

5. Right of withdrawal

EU law normally gives consumers 14 days to withdraw from an online purchase. Because the pass is digital content that starts immediately, at checkout you ask us to start straight away and acknowledge that you therefore lose the right of withdrawal once access begins (art. 59(1)(o) of the Italian Consumer Code). This does not affect the money-back guarantee below or your legal rights if the service does not work as described.

6. Money-back guarantee

If you follow the program and still fail the theory exam, we refund the full price of your pass, provided that:

1. you sit the official theory exam while your pass is active;
2. before that exam, the app had rated you Exam-Ready (an estimated pass chance of 95% or higher), as recorded in your account;
3. you write to [Contact email] within 30 days of the exam, attaching your official exam result (the Scheda Esame Candidato or equivalent) showing the date and the fail result;
4. the pass was bought by you, for you, and has not been refunded before (one refund per person).

We refund to the card you paid with, normally within 14 days of confirming the claim, and your pass then ends. The guarantee covers the price you paid for the pass only, not exam fees, driving-school fees or other costs.

7. Acceptable use and content

The official question bank is published by the Italian Ministry. Everything else — the software, lessons, statistics, design and translations — belongs to us. You may use it for your own study. Do not copy, scrape, resell or republish it, or try to break or overload the service.

Follow-up questions you ask under an explanation, and their answers, may be shown to other learners who open the same explanation, without your name. Do not write personal information in them.

8. Availability and changes

We work to keep the service available but cannot promise it will never be interrupted. We may improve and change features. If we stop the service while your pass is active, we refund the unused part of it.

9. Liability

We are responsible for the service as described in these terms. To the extent the law allows, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for your pass, and we are not liable for indirect losses. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer that cannot be excluded by contract, or liability for intent or gross negligence.

10. Ending your account

You can ask us to delete your account at any time by writing to [Contact email]; an unused pass is not refunded except under section 6 or 8. We may close accounts that seriously break these terms, with a refund of any unused part of the pass where the law requires it.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The version in force when you bought your pass applies to that pass; for anything else we will tell you about material changes by email or in the app.

12. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by Italian law. If you are a consumer you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you may bring a claim in the courts of your place of residence. Please contact us first at [Contact email] — most problems are solved quickly that way.
